Maxis is an American videogame developer founded by Will Wright and Jeff Braun and known for its creation of the Sim franchise. It has developed in the simulation genre for Microsoft Windows. It was acquired by EA in 1997 and merged with EA Redwood Shores in 2004, but its label is still associated with games developed by Will Wright and a team in Emeryville.
