Massively Multiplayer Online Game

Massively Multiplayer Online Games, or MMOGs, are proprietary software platforms designed to connect many players in a shared virtual space. They may utilize central servers with client software to connect players to the platform or they may use personal computers with players connecting to each other on a peer-to-peer basis. Text-based MMOGs are known as Multi-User Dungeons, which describe the space to players and accept text commands. MMOGs have run on several online platforms, including ARPAnet, local university networks, and the internet. They have run on many types of personal computers, home consoles, and browsers.
