Activision will be releasing a Collector’s Edition of Transformers: The Game, which will include new playable material, videos and other fan-pleasing extras.

The $69.99 Collector’s Edition will include two new Cybertron levels (one Decepticon, one Autobot), videos of interviews and “behind the scenes” information, a “Making Of” video, a prequel comic book and special packaging.

Transformers: The Game is based on the Michael Bay-directed Transformers live-action movie, in which Autobots wage their battle to destroy the evil forces of the Decepticons. Players can join either side as one of numerous giant robots bent on either saving the Earth or destroying it, through either up-close melee combat or long-ranged weapons battles in either robot or vehicle mode.

The Collector’s Edition of Transformers: The Game will be available exclusively through Gamestop. The game is scheduled to ship in June 2007, for the Nintendo Wii, PlayStation 2 and 3, Xbox 360, PSP, and Nintendo DS. More information is available from Activision, or at the official Transformers: The Game website.
