With Diablo 4 season eight, you can finally use the powers of the bosses that have been tormenting sanctuary for so long. From world bosses like Ashava to pinnacle bosses like Lilith, you can easily tie their abilities with your build, which is the power mechanic for this season.
There are 24 different boss powers that you can hunt down in Diablo 4: Belial’s Return, but not all of them will be available at the same time. They’re level locked, and you’ll have to work your way through the different difficulty levels to unlock all of them.
How to Unlock Boss Powers in Diablo 4 Season 8
Just like Vampiric Powers from season two, to unlock these Boss powers, you’ll need to defeat the different bosses added in season eight. When you defeat a boss, you’ll unlock their power in the seasonal panel in your character selection screen, which you can then slot in with your build.
These Boss powers have two distinct effects, which are as follows:
- Main power: This power triggers whenever you’ve performed a certain action, like using a skill or consuming a potion.
- Passive: A passive bonus that layers an additional effect on your Main power.

At any given point, you can have just one Main power and three passive effects slotted in the new panel. These powers can also be upgraded using Spirit Powder to make them more powerful.
How to Get More Spirit Powder
Spirit Powder is the new seasonal currency that you can earn through Incursion events. Just like the reputation system in the previous seasons, whenever you defeat enemies in the seasonal events, you’ll receive a unit or two of this currency.
There’s no limit to how much Spirit Powder you can earn in Diablo 4 season eight, and the cost of upgrading a Boss power increases progressively with each level. So, you’ll need to continuously keep farming it.
