The Escapist Launches Newest Video Series By Mikey Neumann and Anthony Burch

Durham, NC — January 20, 2011 — During the first week of February, a couple of dorks will do their best “to save the effin’ world” in the dynamic and comedic new web series Anthony Saves the World, which will be available exclusively on The Escapist.

Anthony Saves The World is an independent project of Mikey Neumann, Creative Director of GearBox Software (Borderlands), and Anthony Burch, creator of hit web series HAWP. It cunningly takes the best aspects of science fiction and effortlessly mutates them into something that cannot be deemed “science” or “fiction.” The first season will run weekly for 10 weeks and will redefine how viewers understand The Settlers of Catan, demonic possession, and time travel-just to name a few.

“We’re super excited to be joining with the Escapist and their bevy of awesome shows,” says Mikey Neumann, Creative Director, Gearbox Software and creator of Anthony Saves the World. “We cannot wait to show you all the cool new episodes we have planned for this season!”

The Escapist captures the videogame world’s contemporary lifestyle through cutting-edge video shorts, in-depth features, news articles, and engaging forums. Anthony Saves the World will be right at home next to some of the web’s most popular video series today, including Zero Punctuation, Unskippable, and Top 5 With Lisa Foiles.

“Mikey is one of the most innovative creative voices in games right now, and Anthony has been a friend of The Escapist for a long time, writing for us for our feature magazine as far back as Issue 107, in 2007,” says Russ Pitts, Editor-in-Chief of The Escapist. “For me, the only thing better than seeing the product of these two creative geniuses combined is being able to present that hilarity at The Escapist.”

Don’t miss the first episode, tune in to The Escapist on Wednesday, February 2, 2010.
