Battle of the Brick: LEGO and Halo , Together at Last

This article is over 15 years old and may contain outdated information

It’s not the LEGO Halo game you’ve been waiting for but the new promotional trailer for Battle of the Brick: Built for Combat, a short video scheduled to come out next year, is packed with violent little brick-shaped Spartans and that’s pretty damn cool in my book.

I’ve never played any of the LEGO videogames myself, but I did sink a lot of time into real LEGOs when I was a kid and I still have a bit of a soft spot in my heart for them. So while a promo for some hypothetical LEGO Halo game wouldn’t do much to turn my crank, a video of hot Halo action made entirely out of LEGO bricks is another story entirely.

And that’s what Battle of the Brick: Built for Combat is, or at least will be: A 25-minute video of Halo action rendered entirely in LEGO. The creator, Alex Kobbs of Kobberz Studios, is no stranger to the art of bringing the disparate realms of Halo and LEGO together: His reproduction of the “Zanzibar” multiplayer map from Halo 2 attracted over three million views and was actually included in the Halo 3 Legendary Edition.

Nerdy? Of course. Entirely awesome? Oh yes. The full-length version of Battle of the Brick is expected to be ready for release sometime in 2010.
