Electronic Arts’ David Gardner joins the the Order of the British Empire for his work within the games industry.
David Gardner, Executive Vice President of International Studios at Electronic Arts, was ordained an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on June 2. Gardner received the title for his support in promoting England as a land for economic and creative opportunity by moving the the United Kingdom in 1987 and building EA’s British branches to over $1 billion in revenue and 1,000 employees.
Martin Uden, the British Consul General in San Francisco, discussed the importance of recognizing important individuals from the United Kingdom. “It is of enormous value to the U.K. to have such an influential and respected senior level executive speak so openly and regularly about the strengths of the U.K.’s creative industry. David is always quick to highlight the U.K. as an attractive location for first class development and creative talent.”
Larry Probst, Chairman of the Board of EA, said, “We congratulate David on this respected honor. It is a testament to his personal passion for British lifestyle and culture and his remarkable professional achievement for EA and for our industry.”
