Capcom’s incredibly successful Street Fighter franchise has inspired many wild stories over the last quarter century, and nobody knows this better than Capcom itself. Capcom has released an hour-long documentary with pretty much everything you’d ever care to know about the series, its history, how it was created, the characters, the sound effects … anything you ever wanted to know, but were afraid you’d get punched in the face if you asked. Get a drink, sit down, get comfortable. You’ll be here a while.
Street Fighter got its start way back in 1987, when you played as Ryu, the young but talented competitor in a martial arts tournament. The series awaits its Street Fighter V, and Yoshinori Ono has said “personally, I don’t want to stop Street Fighter‘s main numbered series at IV,” but adding that “realistically speaking, developing a title for next-gen consoles requires a huge amount of staff members, and a large sum of money. The issue of money also applies to everyone else, as it’ll be required to invest in a new console, game, and arcade stick.”
