D.E.H.T.A. Needs Your Help to Save the Noble Murloc

This article is over 15 years old and may contain outdated information

Blizzard and its merchandising partner J!nx have embraced PETA (as something to be mocked) with this video from the Druids for the Ethical and Humane Treatment of Animals urging you to support the plight of the beautiful Murloc.

Since World of Warcraft launched in late 2004, the Murloc has quickly become somewhat of an unofficial mascot for the game (and the Warcraft series as a whole). They’re found all throughout Azeroth, they’re kind of cute in an extremely ugly sort of way, and best of all they’re memorable – you certainly won’t forget the sound of their battle cry as one of them runs away from you at low health to go bring back five of its buddies. Sadly, as the above video from D.E.H.T.A. shows, over 1.7 million of the noble creatures are slain every day.

To help prevent this senseless slaughter, the Druids have set up a website where you can help out for the low, low price of 3 silver a month. Or, if you’re willing to put up with the shame of associating with Hot Topic, you could just buy the shirt.

My only question is how the hell the Druids made the website in the first place. We might be great at tanking, healing, or a DPS role, but computer programmers we ain’t.

I bet they subcontracted it out to the Gnomes.
