Darkstalkers Comic Coming, Courtesy Udon

We probably won’t see a new Darkstalkers game any time soon, but that won’t stop Udon Entertainment from bringing Capcom’s pugilist monsters to life in an upcoming comic book series.

If you’re only familiar with Udon via their art credit on the gorgeous Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix, you might be wondering what qualifies them to craft a comic book starring Morrigan, Dimitri and friends. Those of you with a bit more trivial knowledge however, will realize that this book is the natural extension of the excellent work Udon has done on the Street Fighter comic series.

No specific release date has been issued for the first issue of the Darkstalkers comic, though Udon’s official site says that the three issue mini-series (appropriately dubbed Darkstalkers: The Night Warriors) should arrive in January.

Until then, we’ll just have to be content with the gorgeous image of all the ‘Stalkers that Udon has released (and I have so kindly attached to this post). It’s obvious the company has Capcom’s art style down, now lets see if they can make the particularly nonsensical Darkstalkers plot into anything remotely approaching the word “coherent.”
