Discovery. Ein Deal in einer Gr\u00f6\u00dfenordnung, die selbst f\u00fcr die Entertainmentbranche selten ist, und der <a href=\"https:\/\/about.netflix.com\/en\/news\/netflix-to-acquire-warner-bros\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">den Streaming-Giganten <\/a>schlagartig in eine neue Liga katapultiert \u2013 nicht nur im Filmgesch\u00e4ft, sondern auch im Gaming. Denn Warner Bros. Games wandert gleich mit ins Paket.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Ein Deal, der ganze Universen verschiebt<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Netflix kauft f\u00fcr \u00fcber 80 Milliarden Dollar nicht einfach ein Studio, sondern gleich mehrere Welten: DC, Harry Potter, Looney Tunes, Game of Thrones, MonsterVerse, Mittelerde. Es ist die Art von IP-Fundament, von der Netflix bisher nur tr\u00e4umen konnte. Und weil der Deal erst nach der Abspaltung der Global-Networks-Sparte finalisiert wird, f\u00fchlt es sich an, als w\u00fcrde gerade eine jahrzehntelange Marktordnung einmal kurz neu gemischt \u2013 und Netflix mischt pl\u00f6tzlich vorne mit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dass Warner Bros. Games offiziell Teil der Transaktion ist, macht alles noch einmal gr\u00f6\u00dfer. NetherRealm, Rocksteady, Avalanche, TT Games, WB Games Montr\u00e9al \u2013 Studios, deren Kataloge von Mortal Kombat bis Hogwarts Legacy reichen. Es ist eine kreative Pipeline, die Netflix bisher gefehlt hat, und gleichzeitig ein riesiges Versprechen, das man jetzt irgendwie einl\u00f6sen muss.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Netflix betritt Neuland \u2013 und sagt erstaunlich wenig<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In der Mitteilung hei\u00dft es, Netflix wolle \u201edie aktuellen Operationen von Warner Bros. beibehalten und auf deren St\u00e4rken aufbauen\u201c. Das klingt nach Ruhe, aber es ist auch eine diplomatische Antwort auf eine gigantische Frage: Was passiert mit einer Games-Abteilung, die pl\u00f6tzlich einem Streaming-Unternehmen geh\u00f6rt, das bislang vor allem mobile Titel, Indie-Projekte und eigene Experimentierstudios betreut hat?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Netflix steckt seit Jahren im Versuch, Games als dritten gro\u00dfen Pfeiler neben Film und Serien aufzubauen \u2013 und die Bilanz ist durchwachsen. Spry Fox hat sich gerade erst aus der \u00dcbernahme gel\u00f6st, Boss Fight und Team Blue wurden geschlossen, und intern ist man vom breiten Portfolio l\u00e4ngst zur\u00fcck auf \u201eweniger, aber hochwertiger\u201c geschwenkt. Jetzt steht Netflix vor einem Portfolio, das nicht kleiner, sondern massiver geworden ist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Die Frage, wie man AAA-Teams wie Rocksteady k\u00fcnftig einbindet, bleibt unbeantwortet. Gleichzeitig steckt genau darin der Reiz: Netflix hat bewiesen, dass sie in Entertainment-Infrastruktur denken. Warner Bros. Games liefert ihnen pl\u00f6tzlich Studios, die schon seit Jahren im AAA-Takt produzieren k\u00f6nnen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Eine Zukunft, die gr\u00f6\u00dfer wirkt als jeder Gesch\u00e4ftsbericht<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Noch f\u00fchlt sich das alles wie ein Vorspann an. Aber es ist sp\u00fcrbar, wie dieser Deal den Streamingmarkt verschiebt. Netflix wird vom gr\u00f6\u00dften Abnehmer von Inhalten zum Eigent\u00fcmer ganzer Markenwelten. Und wenn irgendwann ein DC-Spiel mit Netflix-Branding auftauchen sollte, wird man sich vielleicht an diesen Moment erinnern.
