Diablo 4 Season 8 is almost here and will introduce some major improvements and storyline elements that Blizzard recently revealed in their roadmap.
Unlike most games that follow a seasonal model, Diablo 4’s seasons are disjointed because the storylines are loosely related to each other. While this does help the company avoid major narrative continuity issues, it makes the seasons feel inconsequential to a certain degree.
When does Diablo 4 Season 8 Start?
As revealed by Blizzard, Diablo 4 Season 8 is set to release on April 29. This new season was first expected to go live on April 11, but was delayed by two weeks because the devs needed time to polish the season.
With the new season less than a week away, it’s unlikely that Blizzard will delay it any further, considering that both Last Epoch and Path of Exile 2 have already dropped their respective content for this quarter.
What Is the Theme For the New Diablo 4 Season?
This season’s theme revolves around the return of Belial, the Lord of Lies. This marks the arrival of the second Prime Evil after Mephisto, and also hints at the fact that Diablo will soon storm Sanctuary.
Just like every other season, Diablo 4 Season 8 has a seasonal gimmick that will require you to hunt down Belial’s Apparition Monsters in the Apparition Incursion event.
Diablo 4 Season 8 Battle Pass Reliquary System Explained

For Diablo 4 Season 8, the Battle Pass system has been broken down into four different Reliquaries, each with a different set of cosmetics for different items:

- Weapons Cosmetics
- Mount Cosmetics
- Platinum
- Bonus reward: Guise of the Deceiver Gloves Transmog
- Weapons (200 Platinum)

- Mount Cosmetics
- Pet
- Bonus reward: Guise of the Deceiver Legs Transmog
- Armor (800 Platinum)

While you’ll be able to purchase all these Reliquaries individually, you’ll get all four if you purchase the Battle Pass for 1000 Platinum. Alternatively, if you spend 2,800 Platinum you’ll receive all the Guise of the Deceiver cosmetics for all classes instantly.

To unlock cosmetics from the four Reliquaries, you’ll need to use Favor Tokens. You can get these tokens by killing monsters and completing different quests throughout the duration of the season.
However, the main highlight of this season happens to be the ability to capture and wield boss powers. To unlock these powers, you will have to defeat the different bosses across the different world tiers.
There’s also a seasonal questline that will eventually culminate in you going up against Belial, who also happens to be a brand new Lair Boss in Season 8. You will only be able to access this Lair Boss once you’ve defeated him as a part of the seasonal storyline.
Finally, there’s a new crossover with Berserk that is set to arrive in Diablo 4 Season 8. While there’s no release date yet, it’s going to introduce some Berserk-themed cosmetics that you’ll be able to purchase for your weapons and armor pieces.
