BioWare has announced its “star-studded” voiceover cast for Dragon Age: Origins, which prominently features Kate Mulgrew of Star Trek: Voyager and The Rocky Horror Picture Show‘s Dr. Frank-N-Furter himself, Tim Curry.

There will be quite a bit of dialogue in Dragon Age: Origins. Maybe not as much as there will be in BioWare’s other other RPG epic in the making, Star Wars: The Old Republic, but presumably the amount of voiceover work being done for the game is nothing to scoff at.

So if you’re going to be hearing people talk for most of the game, you might as well get some people who are trained to talk at you. Thus, BioWare’s “star-studded” voice over cast for Dragon Age. The two biggest names here are the ever-prolific Tim Curry, who you might know from Muppet Treasure Island but probably know from The Rocky Horror Picture Show, and Kate Mulgrew, who played Captain Janeway on Star Trek: Voyager.

Dragon Age: Origins has the largest cast of characters of any game BioWare has ever made,” said Mark Darrah of BioWare. “By working with an incredibly talented cast of actors we are able to bring reality and depth to the characters, their back stories, motivations, and dreams that our talented writers have created for them.”

Curry seems to be making quite a name for himself when it comes to videogame voiceover work, having lent his person as well as his voice to Red Alert 3 and also appearing in the upcoming Brutal Legend. In Dragon Age he’ll be playing the bad guy as the “villainous Arl Rendon Howe,” who is “cultured and charming” and yet has an insatiable lust for power.

Mulgrew, meanwhile, will take on the part of another shady character as Flemeth, a witch who “maintains her immortality through the darkest of means, and who plays a pivotal role in the player’s survival.”

Joining Mulgrew and Curry are Tim Russ (Tuvok on Star Trek: Voyager), Claudia Black (she was on Stargate SG-1) and Steve Valentine.
