Enhance Your Arsenal With All the Prey Weapon Upgrade Kit Locations

Weapons like the Shotgun, Silenced Pistol and GOO Gun are all great on their own in Prey [2017], but they can become even better if you can get your hands on a weapon upgrade kit.

Weapon Upgrade Kits are rare items that allow you to beef-up your weapon of choice. You can increase capacity, accuracy, damage and more with weapon upgrade kits, and the more you find, the stronger your favorite weapons can become. The trick is finding the dang things.

Weapon Kits tend to be well-hidden, either in secret stashes or in Smuggler’s Dead Drops. Getting them all isn’t so easy, but we’ll try and make the process as painless as possible. Here’s where to get all the weapon upgrade kits we’ve found so far.

Weapon Upgrade Kits Locations Guide

Neuromod Division

Weapon Upgrade Kit: In the Volunteer Quarters area, accessible on the second floor. Use the keycode 8545 to enter.

Weapon Upgrade Kit: On a corpse just outside the Fabrication Room door, in the Level 1 hallway guarded by a turret. Sneak into the Fabrication Area through a passage in the Volunteer Quarters. Use the code 8545 to enter.

Weapon Upgrade Kit: Located in the Volunteer Testing Neuromod Installation and Extraction chamber. Look in the metal cabinet in the back-right corner.

Talos 1 Lobby

Weapon Upgrade Kit: Located in the Security Station, on the surface to the left of the office doorway.

Alternate Entrance: Crawl up into the vent entrance outside the locked Security Station door to enter the office without the keycard.

Weapon Upgrade Kit: Found in Morgan Yu’s office, in the safe, on the third floor of the Talos 1 Lobby area. Unlock the door with the code 0451 to get this kit. The code to the safe is on the desk.

Weapon Upgrade Kit: In the Psychotronics office entrance room. Break open the safe (Hack 2) to find this kit with Neuromods (x4).

Hardware Labs

Weapon Upgrade Kit: In the weapon case, inside the security station just as you leave the foyer. Duck under the screen to get inside.

Weapon Upgrade Kit: Found near the corpse of Nickie Tannar on the second floor of the foyer.

Weapon Upgrade Kit: On a shelf in the Machine Shop Storage Room. Hack the door (Hack 1) or get the code from a locked computer in the second floor offices above the foyer security station.

Psychotronics

Weapon Upgrade Kit: A weapon upgrade kit is next to the workstation, in the Security Station booth.

Weapon Upgrade Kit: Found on Mitsuko Tokaji’s desk in his office on the second floor of the Atrium, near Labs B. Unlock the Mimic skill to copy a small item and squeeze through the barred window. Place a crate near the window when transforming to easily roll inside.

Weapon Upgrade Kit: There’s also a Weapon Upgrade with the Fabrication Plans and a Shotgun in the Armory. Get the Armory keycode when you free the prisoner in the Materials Extraction lab. Talk to him to get the code.

G.U.T.S.

Weapon Upgrade Kit: Near the second workstation, in the back corner of the Magnetosphere Controls room.

Weapon Upgrade Kit: Hidden in the Magnetosphere Controls safe. Use Hack 2 to crack it open.

Weapon Upgrade Kit: In the caged area swarming with cystoids near the Shuttle Bay Fuel Storage room.

Weapon Upgrade Kit: The corpse of Josh Dalton also has a Weapon Upgrade Kit.

Deep Storage

Weapon Upgrade Kit: In a safe, found in Chief Sho’s office. Use the keycode 6918 to enter.

Arboretum

Weapon Upgrade Kit: Found in the chess nook directly south of the Weapon Storage with the Neuromod and Iris Stein’s body.

Weapon Upgrade Kit: One weapon upgrade kit is carried by Rodney S. Poole in the Greenhouse.

Weapon Upgrade Kit: Find a second kit on the white cargo bundles in the back-right corner of the Greenhouse.

Weapon Upgrade Kit: Found in the AR01 Weapons Locker. Get the keycode if you rescue Rani in the Greenhouse.

Weapon Upgrade Kit: Hack the door to the Security Station (Hack 2) to gain access to the map on the workstation. There is an upgrade kit in the booth.

Weapon Upgrade Kit: Found next to Carin Buckley in the Level 2 Maintenance Area. Smash the glass to the left / right of the Lobby bulkhead and find the back-right cage. Move the heavy cargo blocking the door to find the body and kit.

Weapon Upgrade Kit: There’s a weapon upgrade kit in the seating area, near the fireplace in Alex Yu’s office.

Crew Quarters

Weapon Upgrade Kit: On the shelf opposite the recycler in the small second floor room.

Weapon Upgrade Kit: In the Mail Room, through the locked door behind the Concierge desk.

Weapon Upgrade Kit: Near the second floor entrance to the theater area, loot this kit off the dead body.

Weapon Upgrade Kit: Next to the bed in J. Thorstein’s cabin, in the Crew Cabins B section.

Weapon Upgrade Kit: The safe in Jada Marks’ cabin contains the Artemis Silenced Pistol and a weapon upgrade kit. Get the keycard for the door from the dead body on the rocky alcove beneath Alex Yu’s office in the arboretum.

Weapon Upgrade Kit: Located in a nightstand in Morgan Yu’s cabin, in the Executive Suits.

Deep Storage

Weapon Upgrade Kit: In the locker, inside the Security Booth outside the sealed Central Repository door.

Weapon Upgrade Kit: Contained in the Command Center safe with the Q-Beam Cell Fabrication Plan.

Cargo Bay

Weapon Upgrade Kit: In the sealed cargo container dock to the left of the main white door, in the first large room you enter. Fly to the left-most container (Number 06) on the map and open the hatch with the button. There’s a turret and a weapon kit inside.

Weapon Upgrade Kit: Found in a red toolbox near the Cargo Power Control room door. There’s also a chipset in this container.

Weapon Upgrade Kit: A stache of items is located in the Cargo Shipment Control Center. Hit the red bell on the wall three times to open the secret compartment and collect the contents — it includes a Weapon Upgrade Kit, a Neuromod, and an EMP Charge.

Weapon Upgrade Kit: Inside the caged area of the Shipping and Receiving room between the two cargo bays. Move the heavy cargo on the second floor to find an open hatch (Leverage 3) then drop down to get this kit.

Weapon Upgrade Kit: Found in a red / white bin at the top of the Fuel Storage Bay, on the tall metal shelves. Climb up to the tap from the lift with the dead employee to reach it.

Weapon Upgrade Kit: Inside container #8120 in Cargo Bay B. Use the workstation and input the container number to unlock it.

Weapon Upgrade Kit: Located in a container, inside container #7040.

Weapon Upgrade Kit: Another is found at the very top of the metal shelves in Cargo Bay B. Climb up to the top to spot a small red container.

Weapon Upgrade Kit: Yet another upgrade kit can be collected in container #9171. Use Hack 1 to open it.

Life Support

Weapon Upgrade Kit: Located in a red container, inside the Service Requests office.

Weapon Upgrade Kit: Also found in the shelves container, inside the Supply Closet.

Weapon Upgrade Kit: Find one Weapon Upgrade Kit on top of the safe in the Life Support security booth.

Weapon Upgrade Kit: Found on the body of Alan Bianchi, on the second floor of Atmosphere Control, next to the fan control workstation.

Weapon Upgrade Kit: On the dead body of Roger Meir, found near the broken junction, to the left of the entrance and under the stairs.

Weapon Upgrade Kit: Found on the corpse inside the eel tank at the bottom of the Water Treatment Facility. Unlock the eel harvesting terminal from Price Broadway’s workstation up in the Monitoring Station, then select to harvest the eels with the terminal at the bottom of the grav lifts. His body will drop out of the tank.

Power Plant

Weapon Upgrade Kit: Inside the Security Station booth at the Power Plant bulkhead entrance.

Weapon Upgrade Kit x2: Two weapon upgrade kits are in the back-left corner shelves of the Parts Storage room. Use the keycode from the corpse in the Power Plant Monitoring room.

Weapon Upgrade Kit: On a shelf in the secure storage room. Use Mimic or Hack 3 to gain access to the kit and four turrets.

Shuttle Bay

Weapon Upgrade Kit: Inside the “Information” booth straight ahead and to the right as you enter from the Talos 1 Lobby bulkhead.

Weapon Upgrade Kit: On the dead body of Lloyd Thompson, at the bottom level of the Engineering Pit.

Weapon Upgrade Kit: In one of the metal lockers, in the Pilot Planning Room, directly right as you enter.

Weapon Upgrade Kit: On the desk to the right of Mia Bayer’s body in the Flight Control room.
