Owning a house is a staple feature in The Elder Scrolls franchise and is a key part of Oblivion Remastered. Having a house during the early-game stages doesn’t make sense, but as you progress deeper, you’ll soon come to realize why it’s good to own property.
As you traverse through Cyrodiil, you’ll have the opportunity to get your hands on multiple houses, scattered across the different regions. While every house shares common features like storage chests and beds, some cater to a few specific builds.
How to Get a House in Oblivion Remastered
Almost every single house that you can unlock in Oblivion Remastered needs to be purchased, so you’ll have to stock up on a lot of gold. You can get certain houses for free, but you’ll have to complete the side quests associated with them.

You can also upgrade these houses by speaking to different merchants and vendors, but these come with a hefty price tag. Some upgrades, however, can be unlocked by performing a few simple actions, like killing ghosts or trading with a merchant.
