Sorry folks, you’ll have to join us in current-gen to play Fallout 4.
Over the weekend, a Bethesda staffer confirmed something that most of us already suspected: Fallout 4 will be skipping the “last-generation” consoles – the PS3 and Xbox 360.
The staffer, replying to a thread on NeoGAF, confirmed that the only platforms the post-apocalyptic shooter will see release on are PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
When we first saw the game’s reveal trailer, it was only announced for these the three current-gen platforms, but many thought that Bethesda may announced a last-gen port somewhere down the line, due mostly in part to that crazy reddit rumor.
While no-doubt sad news for those who have not, or can not, get their hands on a current-gen platform, abandoing last-gen should ultimately make for a better game, as developers will not be constrained by the minuscule memory and CPU limitations of the PS3 and Xbox 360.
This also puts more nails in the coffin of the aforementioned reddit rumor, which, among other things, claimed that the new game would force you to play a male character for the story.
