Family Guy Artist Does LittleBigPlanet Level

This article is over 15 years old and may contain outdated information

Family Guy storyboard artist Joe Vaux has designed a new level for LittleBigPlanet, and if the YouTube preview is anything to go by it’s going to be a pretty wild ride.

Swinging pirate ships, demonic-look cats with gas problems, giant eyeballs and all sorts of other oddness await the intrepid Sackboy as he journeys through the level. What’s missing, which will no doubt disappoint fans of the series, is actual Family Guy stuff; despite his affiliation with the series, this is most definitely not a Family Guy level.

“I’m not a huge gamer, but I recently had the opportunity to design a level with PlayStation for LittleBigPlanet,” Vaux wrote on his website. “The game is pretty amazing. You can design and build just about anything.”

The PlayStation channel on YouTube says Vaux’s level will be part of a “Kustom Culture patch” being developed for LittleBigPlanet that will raise funds for the New Orleans Musicians Relief Fund. No indication as to who else will be creating levels for the patch has been given, however; in fact, aside from a brief mention on YouTube, there’s no evidence that such a thing even exists.

While we wait to find out about that, you can get a better taste of what’s in store for Vaux’s LittleBigPlanet level by checking out his website at joevaux.com. It’s worth a look even if you don’t play LittleBigPlanet: Family Guy suddenly seems very, very normal in comparison.
