GOG Celebrates First Anniversary With Interplay Promo

GOG.com is celebrating its first anniversary with a “Two-for-One” deal on its entire Interplay catalog.

GOG, also known as Good Old Games, opened its Early Access Beta program in September 2008 with a selection of around 40 games from a grand total of two publishers, Interplay and Codemasters. People who took part in the beta test were given a coupon for a free Interplay game of their choice with their first purchase and now, to mark its first anniversary and ongoing success, GOG has brought the deal back, offering gamers any two titles from its Interplay catalog for the price of one.

“Looking back at the first year, I think we can say it’s been a really successful time for us – we’ve added lots of great publishing partners and amazing games. But we couldn’t have achieved any of that success without the fans who support us in so many ways. We decided to say thank you to our fans and run this promo,” said GOG Managing Director Adam Oldakowski. “We know there are still a lot of things to improve and a lot of games to be revived, but we’re just starting and the future is looking really bright for us.”

Since its debut, GOG has grown to feature nearly 140 games from close to 30 different publishers, ranging from obscure classics to major hits from years long past, all completely DRM free. The Interplay selection strikes me as particularly strong, with great games like Fallout 1 and 2, the Freespace Series, Earthworm Jim and more. GOG’s “Interplay twofer” runs until September 8; check out gog.com/en/page/1year_promo for more.
