You’ll be able to play the entire Hitman World of Assassination trilogy in PlayStation VR (PSVR) later next year. The announcement was made during today’s August State of Play presentation, where series developer IO Interactive shared a brief look at some stealthy Hitman 3 PSVR gameplay. The World of Assassination trilogy features Hitman (2016), Hitman 2 (2018), and Hitman 3, making this one of the most sizeable VR packages out there. Though the footage below is short, it offers a great tease for what it will be like to play as one of the coldest killers in video games.
IO and PlayStation promise that you’ll be able to play the trilogy of games in VR when Hitman 3 launches early next year, though it is unclear if VR versions for the first two games will release simultaneously. VR compatibility on PC is also unclear.
Hitman 3 was officially announced at a PlayStation 5 event earlier this year as the conclusion to IO’s World of Assassination trilogy. Additionally, the game is said to be “much darker” than previous entries, though what exactly that means has yet to be seen.
Hitman 3 is set to launch on Google Stadia, PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X in January 2021. Keep checking in for more updates on Sony’s State of Play.
