How Long is The Precinct? Total Game Length Explored

Here's what you need to know about the full game length for The Precinct and how long you'll need to beat the game.

The Precinct puts you in the shoes of a rookie police officer navigating the dark streets of Averno City. Understanding the game’s length will give you a fair idea of the challenges you’re set to face.

Featuring a top-down POV like the old GTA games, you’ll be arresting a lot of people for various reasons, ranging from aggravated assault to possession of narcotics and illegal substances. Being a single-player game, it does have a set storyline, but since it’s a sandbox, you have a lot of freedom to finish it on your own terms.

How Long Does it Take to Beat The Precinct?

There are approximately 39 trophies to chase down in this game, and barring a few secret ones, you can earn most of them through completing the storyline. So, you’re looking at 12 to 13 hours if you’re trying to beat the main storyline in The Precinct. If you’re a completionist and want all the trophies, you’ll have to spend an extra two to three hours, which takes the total game length to around 14 to 15 hours.

As a cop, you’ll be investigating your own father’s murder while solving dozens of other crimes in the city. The Precinct also has a decision-making element to it because you’ll need to figure out what crime someone has committed and what you’ll be charging them with. All of this has an overall effect on your XP.

You’ll receive an XP bonus for every correct booking or procedure, while failing to perform a task will invite a penalty. Since the primary gameplay revolves around leveling up by gaining XP, you do not want to deal with penalties for every mission. The game also features some exhilarating car chases, which can be slightly difficult initially thanks to the camera view, but it’ll grow on you eventually.

While popular games like Schedule 1 and Cash Cleaner Simulator focus on you being a good criminal, The Precinct, for the entirety of its game length, forces you to be a good cop! Unlike True Crime: New York City, if you stray from the rules even for a single bit, you’ll soon find yourself leveling up slower, and unless you correct your ways, you will not have access to better gear and upgrades!
