How to Activate Sand Quarry in Roadcraft

Here's everything you need to know if you're looking to activate a Sand Quarry in Roadcraft.

In Roadcraft, when you’re playing on the Sunken, you’ll need to activate the Sand Quarry to progress through the main missions that the game has to offer.

Sand is an important resource and you need to maintain large stockpiles if you want to develop all the disaster-stricken areas. While ensuring that your vehicles don’t get stuck, you’ll also need to ensure that your quarries are always high on fuel.

How to Start a Sand Quarry in Roadcraft

While the process to activate this quarry is fairly easy, you’ll need to perform some precise actions to begin processing sand. To do so, stand in front of the console, a small rectangular box located near the base of the structure. When you stand here, access your map and take your cursor to the area and hover near where you’re standing. Here you should see a dialogue box with the “Hold to Activate” button.

In case you don’t see the button, then it’s possible that you’re not hovering over the appropriate area. The easiest way to avoid this issue is by zooming in to be more precise when it comes to aiming. To successfully activate the Sand Quarry in Roadcraft, you’ll also need to ensure that you have enough fuel points. You’ll have the option to invest fuel points after you’ve activated the quarry.

Once the quarry is activated, you’ll notice that there’s dust around the structure, and there’s some kind of rumbling sound. These are small audio visual cues that you need to look for, if you’re curious about this structure working.

Why Isn’t My Sand Quarry Working?

There are two simple reasons why your Sand Quarry isn’t working, and the simplest explanation is that it has run out of fuel. If you notice it has stopped working suddenly, hover over the icon and check the fuel reserves to see if you’re out of fuel. Once you’ve refuelled it, it’ll start working again.

Alternatively, there’s a chance that your current Roadcraft mission doesn’t require the use of any Sand Quarry. In such cases, you won’t be able to activate it, regardless of the amount of fuel in your storage.
