A Servant Coffin is an important structure in V Rising and plays a crucial role in harvesting resources for your castle.
While not exactly endgame material, you unlock this structure by progressing through the main questline. There’s also a spell tied to it, so even if you use console commands to spawn this item, it won’t make that much difference because you’ll still need to learn the spell to use it.
How to Unlock the Servant Coffin in V Rising
The Servant Coffin is locked behind the “Lord of the Manor” quest. To complete this quest, all you need to do is create a stone coffin and then bind yourself. When you finish the quest, you will receive the recipe to build the structure.
To build a Servant Coffin in V Rising, you’ll need the following items:
- x16 Plank
- x8 Copper Ingot
- x1 Greater Blood Essence
Now, you only need to craft and place the structure within your castle. If you place it on the Crypt floor, you’ll reduce the time needed to convert a human into a servant by 50 percent.
How to Use the Servant Coffin in V Rising
You will also receive the Dominate Human spell once you build a Servant Coffin. You need to use this spell on a human to charm them and bring them back to your castle. However, you can only charm a human if their health is below 30 percent.

After you’ve charmed them and brought them back to your castle, assign them to a Servant Coffin. It takes 100 Blood Essence and 40 minutes to convert a human into your Thrall, 20 minutes if the coffin is placed on the Crypt floor. Once the conversion is done, you can name your Thrall and assign them duties like gathering resources from around the world and guarding your castle.
Every Servant Coffin can have only one Thrall associated with it, so if you want more Thralls, you’ll need to build more coffins. But your Castle Heart level in V Rising determines the number of coffins you can build at any given time. So, upgrading that is also key to increasing your army.
