In Diablo 4 Season eight, Betrayer’s Husk is an important currency that you need if you’re looking for rewards from Belial’s Horde.
Blizzard’s ARPG doesn’t have a dearth of currencies that you can use, and even the ladder bosses have their dedicated currencies that you need to use to unlock rewards. However, you’ll need to complete different activities to unlock these currencies.
How to Get Betrayer’s Husk in Diablo 4
There are few different ways to acquire Betrayer’s Husk:
- Defeat the base form of Belial: After you’ve completed any Lair Boss dungeon there’s a small chance that you’ll be ambushed by a mini-Belial or the base form of the Lord of Lies. This boss will appear only after you’ve accessed the chest and you’ve collected the rewards, and only to those who’ve spent the currency and opened the reward chest. If you’re just trying to experiment with your build, and you don’t want to spend boss material to collect rewards, mini-Belial won’t ambush you. While this is the most consistent form of getting your hands on this currency, there’s no guarantee that you’ll be ambushed after every successful dungeon run.
- Whisper Caches: After you’ve silenced 10 whispers in the world, you can turn them in to claim a whisper cache from the Tree of Whispers in Hawezar. These caches are filled with gold and other gear rewards, and if you’re lucky, just might run into a Betrayer’s Husk.
- Loot Goblins: These little creatures are always carrying powerful items in their stash. So, if you see a trail of gold on the ground then there’s a chance that you’ll find a loot goblin at the end of it. After you defeat this creature in Diablo 4, there’s a minor chance that it could drop a Betrayer’s Husk.

Do note that the mini-Belial will also appear when you’re making your way through the different Apparition Incursion events, but they don’t drop the currency after you’ve defeated them.
How to Use Betrayer’s Husk
You’ll need two Betrayer’s Husk to open Belial’s Horde after you’ve defeated him at the Palace of the Deceiver. Thanks to the Ladder Boss system rework in Season eight, Blizzard has made it such that you’ll not need the currency to summon the boss but you’ll need it to open the reward chest. This way, you’ll not waste currency when trying to test your build, and it also helps keep out freeloaders.
In case you’re not seeing any Betrayer’s Husk from the world events, be sure to check your difficulty, because this currency will not drop in difficulty levels below Torment. It’s probably one of the most powerful currencies in the game right now, because you can use it to target-farm loot from other Lair Bosses in Diablo 4.
