How to Get and Use the Street Fighter 6 Akuma Armor Set in Monster Hunter Wilds

Here's everything you need to know about the Akuma set in Monster Hunter Wilds and how to get your hands on this armor.

Monster Hunter Wilds‘ first-ever collaboration with Street Fighter 6 is finally live, and as a part of this crossover, you can craft the Akuma Armor set for yourself.

Unlike most of the other sets that you can forge, the Akuma set needs to be forged as a whole. And whenever you equip one item, it’ll change all the other items to the ones that are a part of the set. However, you get to pick the decorations you want to use on the individual item pieces. You can use this entire set as layered armor, but it also has some decent perks, so you can use it as your go-to armor piece.

How to Unlock the Akuma Armor Set in Monster Hunter Wilds

You need to complete the Ultimate Strength mission to unlock the Akuma armor set in Monster Hunter Wilds. To start the mission, head to Oilwell Basin and speak to Quinn. He’ll tell you about something that’s been killing tempered monsters in the area.

Then, you’ll have to search the upper and middle stratums for carcasses of such monsters. There are two carcasses you can find here. The first is of a Tempered Rathian, which you’ll find on the upper stratum at location five. This area is neatly tucked away between locations two and four on your map. For easier reference, set your waypoint at the Ancient Forge. Once there, turn towards location two and start climbing the vines.

The moment you’ve climbed the vines, you’ll see that there’s a narrow passage on your left. Head inside the passage and you’ll see a dead Rathian right in front of you. You’ll know you’ve reached the correct place if you receive an on-screen prompt that says “Look”.

With this out of the way, make your way to location nine on the middle stratum. Here you should see a small pathway that leads downwards into a small cavern with crystals. Head down this path and into the cavern to find the dead body of the tempered Gypceros.

Where to Find Akuma

After you’ve found these two carcasses, you need to make your way to Azuz once again and talk to Maki at the Everforge, who will tell you about the individual who’s been killing monsters with his bare hands. To find this individual, you need to reach the lowest part of the Oilwell Basin. Akuma’s location isn’t marked on the map, so you might have a tough time finding him.

He’s inside a cavern neatly tucked away between locations 14 and 16. When you see the map, you should find an isolated Devil’s Blight and a Blastnut in a cavern between these two points. Set your waypoint on either of these items, and your Seikret will take you straight to Akuma, who’s standing right beside the Devil’s Blight.

Talk to him, and then go defeat a Tempered Arakajan in an arena quest, and then come back to him. This will complete the Unlimited Strength quest, and you’ll be able to forge the Akuma set for yourself in Monster Hunter Wilds.

You need 25 SF6 tickets to forge the Akuma set, so you’ll have to repeatedly farm the Tempered Arakajan arena quest before you can craft the entire armor set.

Best Weapons to Pair With Street Fighter 6 Set in Monster Hunter Wilds

The Akuma armor set drops with three specific skills, namely:

  • Part Breaker Level Three
  • Evade Window Level Two
  • Heroics Level Three

So, the best weapons to pair with this armor set would be the Great Sword and the Long Sword. Both could make the most of all three skills. The level two Evade Window does make it a good choice to pair with a Bow, too, but you’d have to use a lot of other decorations to get it up to speed.

Even if you’re not looking to pair it with any weapon, the Akuma armor set is a weapon in itself because it grants you special melee abilities that you can use in combat. These are located on your hotbar, and all you need to do is switch to it in combat, just like you would with a Null Berry or any equipped Mantle that you have.
