How to Get Lightsabers in Fortnite Galactic Battle

Here's a brief rundown of where you can find a Lightsaber in Fortnite., and all the abilities that they let you use.

It’s not a Star Wars celebration in Fortnite Galactic Battle if Epic Games doesn’t include Lightsabers in the loot pool.

This weapon has been a fan favorite, and this time, it comes with a few additional powers. These powers are dictated by the color of the Lightsaber, and will be available until June 7, after which they’re likely to be vaulted again.

Where to Find Lightsabers in Fortnite

For now, only two Lightsabers are available on the island:

  • Blue Lightsaber
  • Red Lightsaber

These Lightsabers cannot be picked up from chests or floor loot. Instead, you have to track down Rey Holograms and Emperor Palpatine Holograms. Once you’ve found these holograms, you have to train with them to get their respective weapons and the special ability they unlock.

Rey

You’ll pick up a Blue Lightsaber if you train with a Rey Hologram. While the locations aren’t exactly clear yet, you’re more likely to find her holograms near the Resistance base towards the northeastern side of the map.

You’ll also find X-Wings, a new vehicle you can use for the rest of the season. When you pick up the Blue Lightsaber, you’ll learn the Force Push attack, with which you push enemies back.

Emperor Palpatine

Emperor Palpatine’s hologram will train you to use the Red Lightsaber and teach you to use Force Lightning. This attack shoots electricity out of your fingers, dealing damage to those struck by it.

You’re more likely to come across Emperor Palpatine holograms near The First Order Base on the northeastern edge of the map. Be careful, though, because this place could be crawling with Stormtroopers and hostile NPCs.

Darth Vader Samurai

Shogun’s Solitude is now under Darth Vader’s control, and he has a few samurai at his disposal. If you defeat them and then the Sith Lord, you’ll get a different red-colored Lightsaber in Fortnite Galactic Battle.

You will also learn the ability to Force Throw, which lets you throw your Lightsaber like a boomerang, which is a handy ability if all your weapons are on cooldown. Shogun’s Solitude is a snow-covered area located on the southwestern edge of the island.

Apart from these three, Mace Windu and Darth Maul’s Lightsabers will be available on May 8. Training with their respective holograms will give you fresh Lightsabers and let you use two new abilities, Force Pull and Force Throw. Darth Maul’s Force Throw will not throw your Lightsaber. Instead, you will be able to throw objects around you at the enemy.

Can You Pick Up Lightsaber Abilities in Fortnite Galactic Battle?

While you can pick up the Lightsabers from fallen enemies, you cannot pick up the Force abilities. They’re tied to the character and not the Lightsaber. However, since they’re not tied to the weapon, you will be able to wield any Force ability, as long as you’ve trained for it.

For example, if you’ve trained with Emperor Palpatine, you can use the Blue Lightsaber and still use the Force Lightning ability. If you pick up a Red Lightsaber from a fallen enemy, you will not be able to wield any abilities.
