With the Fortnite Star Wars season slowly drawing to a close, Epic Games is giving out a free Quicksilver Baton Spear Pickaxe for everyone to collect.

Over the years, the Epic has developed a reputation for handing out freebies every now and then, but it’s rare to see them hand out a skin or even a pickaxe free of cost. Yes, they do give out skins, but to get those skins for free, you need to achieve a certain rank in a tournament. While the battle pass cosmetics are absolutely free, you’d still have to buy the pass before you can start unlocking the cosmetics.

How to Earn the Quicksilver Baton Spear Pickaxe for Free in Fortnite

To earn the free Quicksilver Baton Spear Pickaxe in Fortnite, all you need to do is log into the game between June 3 and 10. You don’t have to complete any specific questline, nor do you need to achieve a certain rank in any tournament whatsoever. As soon as you log into the game, you’ll receive a notification saying that the cosmetic is available in your locker.

Apart from this free pickaxe, Epic is also handing out a loading screen titled “Assault on the Death Star.” This loading screen will give you a glimpse of what you can expect from the Death Star Sabotage live event that’s set to conclude the ongoing Star Wars season.

If you miss collecting the Quicksilver Baton Spear Pickaxe and the Assault on the Death Star loading screen, it’s unlikely that you’ll get them for free anymore. However, knowing Epic’s policy on cosmetics, they just might bring the pickaxe back into the item shop at a later date through the Captain Phasma skin bundle. The loading screen, however, might be gone for good because Epic usually doesn’t sell loading screens in the Fortnite Item Shop.

However, Epic is handing out this reward as a celebration for this season, so you’ll likely receive it even if you’ve played a single game during the Star Wars Galactic Battle season.
