How to Get the Skeleton Key In The Elder Scrolls Oblivion Remastered

The Skeleton Key in The Elder Scrolls Oblivion Remastered is an important Daedric artifact so here's how you can get it.

The Skeleton Key is a powerful item in The Elder Scrolls Oblivion Remastered. It’ll help you open every single door and chest in Cyrodiil without having to use a single lockpick

Unlike Skyrim, where the Skeleton Key was tied to an elaborate Thieves Guild questline, here it’s a rather small questline and has nothing to do with any Guild at all. This time, however, you’ll be dealing directly with the Daedric Prince, Nocturnal.

How to Start the Nocturnal Quest to Get the Skeleton Key in Oblivion Remastered

The Skeleton Key is a Daedric artifact and is associated with a quest called Nocturnal. To start this quest, you’ll have to visit and interact with the Shrine of Nocturnal, located to the north of Leyawiin. When you do so, you’ll hear a voice that’ll task you with locating the Eye of Nocturnal.

After you’ve received the quest, head into the city of Leyawiin and visit Weebam-na’s house, where you’ll find him talking to Bejeen. When you ask these two thieves about the Eye, they’ll deny knowing about it.

After this interaction, sneak your way into one of the shadowy corners of the house and wait for them to start talking to each other. If they see you, then they won’t talk at all, so make sure your sneak skill is high enough. Alternatively, consuming an invisibility potion can also do the trick.

Eavesdropping on them will update your quest marker and send you on your way to Tidewater Cave in Oblivion Remastered. It’s a low-level dungeon, with basic enemies like Trolls and Direwolves. As long as you’re level 10 when you start this quest, you should be fine. Otherwise, these creatures might be a little difficult to deal with.

As soon as you’re inside the cave, take the first left, and then another left, until you reach a waterlogged area deep enough for you to dive in. The Eye of Nocturnal is in this very cave beside a chest underwater. It has a faint glow, so it’s hard to miss.

After you’ve retrieved the Eye of Nocturnal, you’ll need to make your way back to the shrine of the Daedric Prince, who’ll reward you with the Skeleton Key for your efforts in The Elder Scrolls Oblivion Remastered

If you want to skip the questline entirely, or you want the Skeleton Key as soon as you’ve started your journey, use the console command player.additem 0000000b 1 to add this to your inventory. But remember, using these commands in Oblivion Remastered will not let you unlock any achievements or trophies.
