How to Identify Poisonous Mushrooms in PEAK

While scaling mountains in PEAK, you will come across a lot of mushrooms, out of which some are poisonous.

There are different types of mushrooms that you will find, and they’re mostly useful. However, there are some, which have the potential to kill you, especially if you’re not careful. Just like in real life, these mushrooms come in different shapes and sizes in PEAK. These shapes and sizes are identifiers that you need to look out for, if you’re trying to distinguish between harmful and harmless mushrooms.

All Types of Mushrooms in PEAK And Their Poisonous Variants

You will find four different types of mushrooms in PEAK, but only three of them have poisonous variants. These types are:

  • Chubby: This is the only type that doesn’t have a poisonous variant at all. The stalk and the head are fused together, and have a very bulbous appearance. You can consume them whenever you want and wherever you find them.

  • Clusters: Clusters are basically mushrooms that appear in clumps. Unfortunately, the ones that have frills on their stalk. These are the poisonous ones that you need to keep an eye out for. If, however, you find Clusters with smooth stalks, you can consume them without fear in PEAK

  • Button: Identifying a button mushroom is extremely simple. They appear as a regular button. They have a round-ish cap and are usually marked with an X. These caps are clean and don’t have any marks. However, if you see that the cap is spotted, then it’s likely to be poisonous in PEAK

  • Bugle: This mushroom has a stalk with a leaf-like cap. However, the poisonous variant has a few webbings on its body. These webbings are easy to spot, so try not to pick these ones up.

What Are Mushrooms Used For in PEAK?

While you’re in the Shore region, mushrooms are your easiest way to get your hands on items to reduce your hunger. In case you end up consuming a poisonous one, don’t lose hope. Whenever you do so, you receive a few stacks of Toxicity. This will reduce your health, but it won’t kill you.

If you consume too many poisonous mushrooms, then you will lose all your health and die. So, be sure to see the mushrooms that you’re picking up while climbing mountains in PEAK. It’s a handy item, even when you’re out on solo expeditions.
