How to Play Roadcraft on Co-op Multiplayer With Friends

Here's how you can play Roadcraft with your friends using co-op multiplayer settings over the internet, and how you can create sessions.

Roadcraft is pure chaos but when you join a co-op multiplayer session with your friends, it’s nothing short of pure mayhem.

While most of the achievements and trophies are associated with single-player gameplay, multiplayer matches make the missions easier or an absolute disaster, depending how much confusion your friends bring to your session. While playing with friends is absolutely worth the experience, joining them can be a bit tedious.

How to Join a Co-op Session in Roadcraft

To play with friends, you’ll need to host a session or join a pre-existing session with a special invite code. Here’s what you need to do:

  • From the main menu, select the “Multiplayer” option.
  • Here, you should find the option to host a game, or join a game.
  • Click on the option to host, select the number of players you would want in your game, check the permissions, and select the “Start Session” button.
  • This should give you an invite code. Your friends will need to use this code to join your session.

In case you have an invite code, head to the Multiplayer section and click on the “Join Game” option. Here, insert the invite code you’re received, and you’ll be taken to your friend’s world. When you join your friend, you’ll have access to the vehicles that they’ve accessed so far.

So, even if you’ve made more progress than them, you’ll still be limited to the vehicles and company level that your friend has. In case you want to use your vehicles, they’ll either have to load your Roadcraft save before heading into the multiplayer section, or you’ll have to host the co-op session.

At any given point, only four players can play together in Roadcraft. Adding more players would make the games more confusing, hampering the overall gameplay experience. And while the game does support co-op gameplay, it doesn’t have any couch co-op. So, if you want to enjoy Roadcraft with your friends, you’ll need a working internet connection.

In case you experience networking issues while playing the game online, it’s best the host restarts their session, or someone else hosts it. That should solve all networking issues, allowing you to enjoy major vehicular mayhem in Roadcraft.
