After several delays, The Division 2‘s Battle for Brooklyn DLC is finally live, and will take you on a few missions where you stop the Cleaners from taking over the area.
This DLC breathes new life into the franchise because the content up to now was repetitive and boring, and there wasn’t any major storyline advancement either. Although it’s not as huge as the Warlords of New York expansion, it does push the story forward and sets up everything beautifully for what’s to come.
How to Begin the Battle for Brooklyn DLC Story in The Division 2
You can start the new DLC mission in two specific ways. If you’re in New York, then you can just visit the site where the Battle for Brooklyn DLC starts, and you can activate the mission from there. It should show up as a marker on your map. If there’s no marker, you can bring up the map and look for the icon near the Shelter Settlement.
Alternatively, if you’re in Washington, then all you need to do is go and talk to the pilot, and he’ll give you the choice to either start the Warlords of New York DLC or the Battle for Brooklyn DLC in The Division 2. If you haven’t purchased it yet, you’ll also have the option to buy it from the selection window.

Unlike when Warlords of New York released, the pilot isn’t in the front yard anymore. Instead, he’s on your left when you face the entrance to the White House. If you’re here, you should see a marker that points you to the location of this individual.
Why Can’t I Start the Battle for Brooklyn DLC?
Even if you have the Ultimate Edition for The Division 2, you might not be able to start the Battle for Brooklyn DLC, because it’s not added to your account yet. Yes, the new infographic indicates that it’s included with the Ultimate Edition, but what it doesn’t mention is that this only applies to those who purchased it during the recent release.
If you bought the Ultimate Edition back in 2023 or earlier, you will not have access to the new DLC. Additionally, you need to be at level 40 to access the DLC contents, which means you’ll have to make it past the base game storyline before you can stop the Cleaners from burning Brooklyn down.
