Jonathan Majors Creed III villain boxer Michael B. Jordan

Jonathan Majors May Punch Michael B. Jordan a Lot as Creed III Villain

With Michael B. Jordan in the director’s seat, Creed III is rolling along and the movie may now have its antagonist in Jonathan Majors. Majors is being eyed to go toe to toe with Jordan in the ring, with the actors in talks at this moment to join the cast as Adonis Creed’s boxing opponent.

There are few details about the plot of the film, though it will probably involve a lot of boxing. The Creed movies have been following the same direction as theĀ Rocky movies did, with the first film being a strikingly good, Oscar-nominated movie and the second blowing that all up for an over-the-top sports film. Majors could be playing the relative of Clubber Lang and start pitying all the fools. Those fools will include Jordan himself as Creed and returning stars Tessa Thompson and Phylicia Rashad, but not Sylvester Stallone as he has said the franchise has moved past the character of Rocky.

The deal for Jonathan Majors to star isn’t quite done yet, as the guy is massively busy. After becoming a hot ticket from his turn in the amazing The Last Black Man in San Francisco, Majors landed roles in the heavily praised Lovecraft Country and Spike Lee’sĀ Da 5 Bloods. The actor is set to make his Marvel debut in Ant-Man and the Wasp: QuantumaniaĀ as the villain Kang the Conqueror and is attached to multiple other projects as well.

CreedĀ IIIĀ is still in the early stages at MGM, but the studio is moving it along quickly now that production is basically back in full swing. This will be Jordan’s first stab at directing, so having an actor of Jonathan Majors’ caliber playing across him should be incredibly helpful for Creed III.
