“We have made the difficult decision to delay the release of Kena until September 21st to polish the game across all platforms,” said Ember Labs on social media. “The team has been working extremely hard and we feel the extra time is critical to ensure the best experience possible. We know many of you are eager to play and we appreciate your patience as the team continues to work on delivering the best version of Kena. Thank you for your amazing support!”

Kena: Bridge of Spirits was first announced during Sony’s PlayStation 5 presentation in June of last year. It has been one of the most anticipated new indie titles, especially for the new current-gen hardware, with its impressive, Pixar-like visuals. It was originally supposed to launch holiday 2020 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC via Epic Games Store. However, the game was delayed to Q1 2021 as a result of complications of working during the COVID-19 pandemic. A definitive launch date was later announced in February 2021 for August 24. Ultimately, Ember Labs has decided to delay the Kena release date once again, but only by a month, which is not very long to wait.
