Link Rips Out Real Hearts in Secret Mortal Kombat Fatality

This article is over 13 years old and may contain outdated information

A video of unlikely characters performing secret Mortal Kombat fatalities has been discovered.

Fighting fans are getting Mortal Kombat fever again now that the series is coming back to punch our heads off with a new version. Amongst that fever has arisen a video of secret character auditions that was hidden from the public for too long. Today, we get to see what could have been.

Machinima uncovered the video which features retro characters such as Pac-Man, Link, Mario, Toad from Mario Kart, Arthur from Ghouls ‘n Ghosts, and NBA Jam guy. These typically happy customers aren’t their normal selves in the video, though.

Pac-Man wakka-wakkas his way through Kano’s intestines. NBA Jam guy rips off Scorpion’s head and dunks it for 2 points. Mario forces Stryker to eat mushrooms until he nearly explodes, and then spin jumps on him to finish the job.

The best two are definitely Link’s and Toad’s. Link truly adds to his hearts by taking the heart right out of Nightwolf. Meanwhile, Toad sends Mileena running on a track while he fires off a red shell to knock her down, and then he turfs her with his kart.

The video is a good look at the type of Mortal Kombat game we would have were there any justice in the world. As it stands, I doubt Nintendo vs. Mortal Kombat is going to happen in an official capacity, ever. Link’s newfound taste for blood will have to be satiated elsewhere.
