Mirror’s Edge Catalyst Release Date and Gameplay Revealed

It’s not a sequel, because it’s a prequel.

DICE delivered a gameplay reveal of Mirror’s Edge Catalyst as part of the Electronic Arts E3 2015 press conference.

Reprising the first-person parkour gameplay of the original game, returning heroine Faith will have her origin story told. The franchise’s themes of corporate control over individual privacy and freedom will once more be at the forefront.

The world of the game, “The City of Glass,” will be open, featuring no level instances or load screens. A gameplay video was shown, which started with Faith escaping from a facility owned by the game’s antagonist, Gabriel Kruger, who rules the City of Glass. This was followed by a montage of gameplay and cinematic clips with a variety of indoor and outdoor sequences.

Finally, Mirror’s Edge Catalyst will be available on February 23, 2016.
