Battlefield 6 Trailer

Battlefield 6 – it’s almost time to download it and go to war with Call of Duty – pre-load times announced

Over the coming weeks, the war between Battlefield 6 and Call of Duty is going to really catch fire. First up, we have the Call of Duty Black Ops 7 Early Access to contend with, then the VF6 release, followed not that long after by CoD’s actual release. There are going to be a lot of flags captured, a wealth of slides cancelled, and a fanboy slapdown like never before.

Will either game be perfect, absolutely not, but will Battlefield be able to capitalise on the weariness that seemingly lurks in the dark corners of Call of Duty’s lobbies?

Just to make sure you don’t forget entirely about BF6 while Call of Duty shows its hand. it’s oh-so-familiar hand) at the Early Access stage we have already had a marketing video fired by Battlefield Studios across Call of Duty’s bows, and now, as just a little extra reminder, we now have the pre-load times where you can get he game on your hard drive to hopefully mitigate a few inevitable delays come launch day.

So whether you have pre-bought the console or the PC version, we would highly advise getting the download done and dusted if you possibly can, and here is how to go about that process.

How to preload Battlefield 6

Electronic Arts, who have been quite busy this weekend, has confirmed that you will be able to pre-load Battlefield 6 from Friday, October 3, 2025, at 8 AM PT / 11 AM ET / 4 PM BST.

If you are on PC you need to go to your Digital Storefront and from there you will be given the option to preload once the time arrives.

Xbox and PlayStation purchasers you just do the same thing from the appropriate Store page. Simple.

How big is the Battlefield 6 install?

The requirements for Battlefield 6 say the minimum required install size is 55GB with a Recommended 80GB, likely due to the differing textures if you are running the game at better settings. So let’s say 80GB for the majority of us.
