Battlefield 6 – Hands up, who’s excited? Trailer and Open Beta incoming

Battlefield throughout the ages is an important video game, while CoD was wallowing, DICE was doing great things in their soldier simulator.

It may seem a bit mad, but I have several moments, and we probably all do, that I remember playing games in the past. Seminal moments in my time as a player. One would be the first time I played Minecraft (back in beta) and trying to survive the first night, and another was in the OG Battlefield, where I was just cutting my teeth in multiplayer shooters.

I climbed up a crane for a better sniping vantage point, and as I got to the top, I saw there was a sniper there, already in position, and they hadn’t noticed me, lying prone, surveying his kill zone.

I gingerly crept up behind him, panicking, expecting him to turn round at any second. He didn’t, and I bravely shot him in the back of the head. Games eh?

That was a long time ago, and while I have had dalliances with later Battlefields, I have always generally found a reason not to play them. Not for any particular one thing, a combo of life getting in the way, or things that had my interest more at the time.

Now, as the temperature rises ahead of Battlefield 6, we now know we are soon to get a trailer and an Open Beta, and my interest levels are rising.

EA and the collective studies working on Battlefield really need to hit the straps with this one. In many ways, to me, it feels as though, unless Battlefield 6 is a roaring success, it could be the last time we see the franchise for a long time, if at all again.

The original studio DICE is partnered up with Criterion, Ripple Effect, and Motive under the moniker of Battlefield Studios, to get this right. That is a lot of moving parts. It is an interesting experiment.

When is the Battlefield 6 trailer released

We now know the first look we will get at the new Battlefield game will be on July 24. We can perhaps take a guess at some of the content by looking at the art that has been released. That looks like Manhattan to me, and those soldiers look like they are watching over their handiwork as the bridge blows up. Start spreading the news.

Battlefield 6 is being billed as the “ultimate all-out warfare experience”.

Yes, I am a little bit excited.
