Dead By Daylight: Stranger Things 2 adds Vecna, Eleven and Dustin in PTB Patch Notes

Dead By Daylight teased back in December that the Stranger Things 2 DLC was on its way. But, with the show now completed, players finally know what’s coming with the PTB patch notes, revealing two new survivors and a killer to the game. There’s also a regular patch which adds another unlicensed killer to the game, alongside some major balance changes.

The Dead by Daylight PTB is open from January 6-13, 2026, via the Steam Public Test Build option in the game’s properties. This testing window will allow everyone to test the Stranger Things 2 DLC. From January 8th, players can test the regular 2v8 patch, featuring other balance changes and bug fixes coming to the game.

If you like what you test, the Stranger Things 2 DLC will release on January 27th.

Dead By Daylight PTB Patch Notes: Stranger Things Chapter 2 Content

The Dead by Daylight PTB patch notes feature the addition of Vecna, the new killer, now known as The First.

Vecna’s abilities feature a vine whip attack – hitting enemies applies a Worldbreaker Token. Vecna can also access the Upside Down to quickly travel around the map and reappear in the real world. Survivors in the area when Vecna appears get two more stacks. These stacks activate Worldbreaker when one Survivor gets enough of them, making his abilities now deal damage, which is Vecna’s kill phase.

The killer also comes with some unique perks affecting generator repair speed. There’s also generator blocking based on totem cleansing, and synergy with hooking Survivors.

On the other hand, we have two new Survivors: Eleven and Dustin. Dustin is pretty good at laying window traps, and when hiding with non-event toolboxes, can spend a token he starts with to get a med kit. It gives Dustin the support synergy that players may want.

Eleven on the other hand, is about gathering intel. She can detect auras, and when she is detected, she gets tokens. When she gets enough tokens, all Survivors and Eleven can see the Killer’s aura. She’s got some risk, but she wants to play that way to get her team a huge buff on being able to detect the killer and finish the repairs before getting out.

If you’re not interested in the Stranger Things 2 content, there’s plenty of regular balance changes to come too. There are balance changes to killer and survivor classes, among other bug fixes. These will be testable from January 8th through to the testing period coming to an end.
