Genshin Impact's New Character

Genshin Impact gives us first look at new character at Gamescom

Gamescom 2025 isn’t just about revealing new games; HoYoverse’s mega gacha game Genshin Impact is now appearing there for its fifth time, teasing the upcoming region, Nod-Krai, and showing off the latest new character for the first time.

Of course, there is a new trailer highlighting all of this as well, and if you are lucky enough to be attending Gamescom, you won’t be able to miss the game’s booth, which is themed on Nod-Krai as well. Pop in and you will find a variety of activities, including cosplay and live band performances on stage, exclusive merchandise, and a chance to try limited-edition items from the HoYoverse Café menu.

You can watch the trailer above and enjoy the deep voiceover and slightly jaunty pirate-type music that accompanies it

So what is Genshin Impact doing at Gamescom in 2025?

The spotlight this year is on Nod-Krai, the new region featured in the game’s major annual expansion. This region marks the beginning of a new chapter in the game’s main storyline, bringing together new and familiar factions from across Teyvat. A new trailer, premiering today at Gamescom, introduces Flins, a skilled Lightkeeper warrior making his debut in Nod-Krai. In the trailer, he faces the threat of the Wild Hunt before saving you at the end. It’s very wholesome as ever.

Everything we know about Flins so far

So, what do we know about Flins? While there is not a ton of info out there, we know he is a mysterious lighthouse keeper from Nod Krai. We also know we will be getting access to his character in the upcoming Version 6 of Genshin Impact.
