Jurassic World for MSFS 2024

Microsoft Flight Simulator adds in Jurassic Park – hum it, hum the theme tune now

Not sure life gets much better than a mix between two of my favorite things, Microsoft Flight Sim and Jurassic Park. Yes, folks, I am officially that old, it seems.

I actually spent some time in Thailand earlier in the year, and one of our guides was keen to point out the areas that were used in the filming of the recent Jurassic World movie, and it was very cool. Not as cool, however, as being able to fly over them as much as you want in this new Jurassic World: Archipelago add-on that is in development for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, currently being developed by OrbX.

Watch the video below, and if you don’t smile, then you are dead inside. Seek help.

“As lifelong fans of the franchise, bringing Jurassic World’s awe-inspiring environments to the flight simulator has been a thrill for the Orbx team,” said Anna Cicognani, CEO at Orbx. “Every moment you spend exploring feels like stepping right into the adventure: it’s daring, it’s immersive, it’s your own blockbuster. “We’re grateful to Universal Products & Experiences for collaborating with us to bring these iconic landscapes with a fresh sense of wonder and discovery to the game.”

The Jurassic World: Archipelago add-on is being created by OrbX in collaboration with Universal Products & Experiences and will feature the islands featured in the iconic series of movies, and also include flying reptiles, and even the possibility of catching a glimpse of a dinosaur roaming around.

As much as I like Microsoft Flight Sim for its realism, I love that you can take these bold, cinematic steps like this and previous tie-ins like they did with Dune.

The product will launch first for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 on PC via OrbxDirect, with versions for Xbox, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020, and X-Plane to follow.

There is zero info on a release date for this other than Coming Soon, but the news has only just dropped, so we are sending a team of scientists off the coast of Costa Rica right now to see if we can discover anything more.

Inspired by the Jurassic World films; features include:

  • Highly detailed islands: Isla Nublar, Isla Sorna, and more
  • Custom airfields and helipads
  • Animated land, water, dinosaurs, and flying reptiles
  • Themed aircraft liveries and unique flight activities integrated into gameplay
