A theme park in Mars Attracks

Mars Attracts – become an evil theme park tycoon on the Red Planet

There is a lot to like about the premise of Mars Attracts beyond the clever title apeing Mars Attacks and featuring the aliens from the 1996 sci-fi comedy.

For starters, it’s a theme park management sim which always goes down well. Traditionally, these kinds of titles have always been a hit, and the resurgence in recent years, thanks to the Two-Point series of games, has proven that when it comes to needing more vending machines and a larger staff room, players still go wild for it.

I also like a theremin when it comes to sci-fi music, and the trailer above does not let me down.

An Early Access release for Mars Attracts is imminent, and with fans getting the first chance to get hands on with a new playable build at Gamescom, we feel this may be just around the corner.

When the initial Mars Attracts trailer was first released last year, it soon racked up over a million views on YouTube, no mean feat for an indie game with big hopes and dreams.

So, what is Mars Attracts?

Mars Attracts is a theme park management game in the style we have come to love, but based on Mars and set in the iconic universe of Mars Attacks! As you are out to attract the creme de la creme of the Martian society, you are going to need some pretty cool attractions to keep them interested. A new Human Enclosure for your freshly abducted exhibits might do the trick. You can abduct humans from various periods of history and build enclosures to make them believe they never left that blue dot. You know, just like when you put a Polar Bear in London Zoo – how would it ever know?

Plus, you will need to add death-defying rides and, quite probably, an appropriate number of vending machines, benches, and trash cans.

Expect a lot more news on Mars Attracts in the coming couple of weeks, but for now, you can wishlist the game on Steam and keep up with its progress there.
