Test Drive Casino

Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown’s new casino is not available in 60 countries due to gambling laws

Gambling laws and restrictions have hit the new Season 4 patch of Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown, which, for many, will include a new casino location featuring a social hub for up to 32 players and a slot machine mini game to win chip coins. However, players in around 60 countries will not have access to the features due to the variance of gambling laws around the globe.

With a further mid-season patch set to enhance the casino further with new slot machines, the content gap between the haves and the have-nots looks set to continue to grow, which is awkward for both devs and players. With the casino coming as part of the new patch and having been highlighted as a big part of the content update, it’s bound to leave some players frustrated, even though it is not fully implemented as yet. Weirdly, you can buy casino chips from the in-game cashier, but you can’t withdraw them yet – that will come in the next patch. Don’t let real casinos in on that tactic, or they will all be trying to do it.

Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown has been out since June 2024, and after an initial mixed reaction, the devs at KT Racing have managed to start to pull things round. There is still a fair way to go to get the game to the heights the franchise once had (fun fact, it was the graphics on the original Test Drive that got me to save up for a Commodore Amiga and trade in my Atari ST), but active development is going a long way to fix the launch issues.
