Shift Up, the studio behind Stellar Blade and gacha game Goddess of Victory: Nikke, has revealed at Gamescom that they’ll be having a Resident Evil collaboration. Information is scant right now, but we do know that Jill Valentine will be one of the characters appearing in the event.
Goddess of Victory: Nikke is one of those games that flies just below the radar that you might not be aware of. It’s the follow-up to Destiny Child, Shift Up’s previous gacha game, which has sadly been shuttered.
Rather than your typical role-playing or strategy game, Nikke is effectively a shooting gallery, with the angle of the camera deliberate. Yes, this is a real screenshot from the game.
If it were to launch this year, this would make it the fourth collaboration the game has run in 2025. At the top of the year, it had Stellar Blade and Evangelion collabs, while also rerunning the Nier event.
The only thing to do now is to guess when the event will hit, as there’s been such little detail. Will it coincide with Resident Evil 9, or will they try to tie it in with Capcom’s own mobile Resident Evil game, Survival Unit?
However, it would seem that which characters will appear in the collab is at the forefront of everyone’s minds. Nikke typically only features female characters, so it narrows down the list. The hopes for a “dummy thicc” Nemesis or bootylicious Leon might be one step too far for the team over at Shift Up.
We already know that the Master of Unlocking, Jill Valentine, will be in the game. Over on Reddit, some fans are hoping for Ada Wong, who I’d expect to appear to appeal to the core fanbase and the Chinese market. Others who could appear could be Claire Redfield from RE2 and Code Veronica, as well as Sheva from RE5.
While we know nothing of the event so far, I think we all know it’s going to be caked up like no tomorrow. No one is safe.
