World of Warcraft player housing launches early December for Midnight pre-orders

World of Warcraft’s highly anticipated player housing feature arrives in early December 2025, giving early access to players who pre-order the Midnight expansion, meaning that patch 11.2.7 is due out before the end of the year.

The housing system emphasizes boundless self-expression and customization, thanks to the 2 decades of WoW content the housing system is pulling from. Players can earn decorations through dungeons, raids, reputation vendors, quests, housing endeavors, holidays, and all professions spanning every expansion. A comprehensive dyeing system allows color customization, while advanced controls enable scaling and floor plan adjustments for fantastical configurations. So, you don’t need to target farm-specific styles. Just get the decor item you want and then adjust the pigment as necessary when you’re in your home.

It’s a nice way to get newer players and older players alike back into old content, doing big achievements and more. On the Deep Dive, they specifically mentioned that the Legion Class hall is one such feat for big themmatic rewards for housing decor, with some older achievements also needed for some. It gets the casuals back out into the world to acquire the necessary decor pieces.

Interiors are not the only thing you can customize, either. Exteriors offer full customization with architectural themes based on Orcs, Humans, Blood Elves, and Night Elves available at Midnight’s launch, each with their own aesthetic for more high elf, nightly wood elf, to the brutal orcish ivory and rock, to the rustic stone and wood human buildings.

Every house exists within shared zones called Neighborhoods, available across various biomes from spooky forests to lush oases. Neighborhoods are faction-coded aesthetically but not faction-exclusive for residency. Players choose between public neighborhoods or private options: Guild neighborhoods that scale to fit entire guilds, or chartered neighborhoods capped at 50 homes.

Monthly Endeavors provide neighborhood-wide activities where communities contribute to tasks and challenges, helping neighborhoods evolve while unlocking exclusive decorations. These collaborative events reward housing XP and community tokens for purchasing additional items.
