All Link needs to find treasure in Skyward Sword is a map, a large red bird, and special kind of block.
Treasure hunting is a staple of the Legend of Zelda games, and as this new video shows, Skyward Sword isn't going to be any different. Well, it's going to be a little different, because Skyward Sword's treasures are hidden in the clouds.
The process seems relatively simple: Once you find a beacon block - which isn't their actual name by the way - you activate it using your sword. This places a waypoint on Link's map of the sky. All he needs to do then is hop on his giant bird and follow the markers, discovering priceless treasures, such as rupees and heart pieces, and he goes. As you can see from the video, the sky portion of the game is pretty expansive, and looks to have quite a bit in common with Wind Waker's ocean map.
Skyward Sword's crafting system actually gives the game a lot of room for variety in its treasures, as treasure chests could just as easily be stuffed with rare crafting components as with cash. Whether or not Nintendo will decide to do this is anyone's guess, but we'll be able to find out when the game arrives on the Wii on November 20th.
