The Awesome Games Done Quick team are marathon-ing video games to raise money for charity.
If you've never heard of Games Done Quick, they are a group of dudes that get together every year to speedrun and marathon games till they drop - all in the name of raising money for charity. The event is being streamed live online right now, non-stop, with all donations made going on to the Prevent Cancer Foundation.
You can check out the schedule of games the team will be speedrunning, which includes modern releases such as Donkey Kong: Tropical Freeze, as well as old-school classics like The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Furthermore, the folks over at Humble Bundle are getting in on the action, releasing a "Humble Awesome Games Done Quick" bundle that contains a variety of awesome games at various rewards tiers, including Duke Nukem 3D and Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee.
You can also purchase t-shirts from the Games Done Quick Tee Collection, which feature some pretty sweet designs of your favorite retro characters.
As of writing, the team has raised $69,892.71 for the charity just from the stream, with the Humble Bundle adding a further $148,597.76. It's a good cause and it's great fun to watch, so go ahead and check it out below:
