Linux users can now experience the cold fingers of fear gripping their spines, too. And no, the Linux kernel hasn’t added a blue screen of death.

Frictional Games has announced the release of a Linux version of the first chapter of their first-person adventure/horror title, Penumbra: Overture. This atmospheric, puzzle-centric game uses a physics system to allow fully immersive environmental interaction.

With Windows and Linux versions available and an OS X version on the way, Penumbra: Overture promises a chillingly good time, no matter your platform of choice.
