Developer signs on with UK publisher Team 17.
Lilith Ltd. has canceled their Kickstarter for Allison Road, announcing that they will instead develop the game in partnership with Team 17.
In an update to the campaign announcing its cancellation, the developer noted that they still intend to involve the community of fans who pledged support on Kickstarter, though further details were not provided.
Allison Road is a first-person horror game which drew considerable attention in June when it appeared on Steam Greenlight, becoming approved for the service within 48 hours. It is considered by many to be a spiritual successor to P.T., the first-person teaser of a since canceled Silent Hill installment, which drew controversy when it was unceremoniously removed from PlayStation Network this past May.
The Kickstarter campaign for Allison Road, which started on September 21 and ran until its cancellation yesterday, had £145,959 in pledges toward its £250,000 goal with just over a week remaining.
Team 17, best known for the Worms franchise, has been developing their indie games label for the last few years, publishing The Escapists, LA Cops, and others. The studio will also publish the forthcoming spiritual successor to Banjo-Kazooie, Yooka-Laylee.
