Respawn Entertainment says Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order will target 60 FPS on PlayStation 4 Pro and Xbox One X.
Talking to We Got This Covered, Respawn Entertainment producer Paul Hatfield talked about how the team plans to take advantage of Sony and Microsoft’s high-end consoles by providing two game experience modes: “quality” and “performance” modes.
Quality mode will lock Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order’s frame rate into a consistent 30 FPS with the trade-off likely being better visuals. Performance mode on the other hand is where the game will strive to reach that 60 FPS mark. Although, it sounds like Hatfield warned that some moments in the game won’t be able to fully reach 60 FPS.
Players who are using the standard PlayStation 4 and Xbox One will seemingly be limited to 30 FPS.
With some pretty intense set pieces and high-energy boss fights promised in recent trailers, hitting 60 FPS might give players the edge they need to succeed. With Apex Legends and Titanfall under its belt, Respawn is certainly used to creating high-octane game experiences.
