DURHAM, N.C. – November 2, 2007 – The Escapist, the cutting edge online interactive entertainment publication and home to the wildly popular Zero Punctuation serial animated feature, has opened the doors to its first annual Film Festival, inviting the best and brightest in film and animation to showcase their originality for the opportunity to win a regular spot with the magazine.

“This is great for our readers and for us,” said Julianne Greer, Editor-In-Chief of The Escapist Magazine. “We are excited to see what hidden talent is out there. This allows our readers to get involved with the content and direction of The Escapist, and maybe even become part of our team.”

The Escapist continually provides excellence in journalism with regard to news, editorial, interviews and feature articles covering interactive media, games, and the culture behind it. Recently, the magazine added the now hugely popular video review Zero Punctuation by Ben “Yahtzee” Croshaw and is looking to uncover more video stars to feature.
