I’ve been watching my roommate play Dark Souls lately. I have to say, it’s not really my kinda game. I can’t really see the appeal in constantly dying over and over again. But I have to say this might be the most hilarious game of 2011 for a few reasons. First is just the general way this game treats the player. It seriously doesn’t want you to have any confidence. Like fighting a dragon on a rooftop. Getting close to killing it… then another one appears. I nearly lost my shit when I saw the giant Vagina tooth dragon, coincidentally named the Gaping Dragon.
Where I really lost it though was when he got up to Kingseeker Frampt. Given his appearance our first reaction was to kill it… then he started talking in an accent I can only describe as a mix between Sir Sean Connery and Liam Neeson. Freaky stuff considering he looks like some weird black sheep cousin of Falcor.
Needless to say, I have been spending most of my time laughing at this game.
